Global Media Charities – V-project award granted to support Shine On ( Public )
A huge thank you to Global Media Charities and V-project who have awarded Shine Theatre Trust a second grant.
This will support “SHINE ON”; a new group especially for the ‘graduates’ of Shine Theatre Group. The Shine On members have moved on from being part of the children’s performing group but still love to be involved in the arts.
The first two workshops were to do with singing and were so successful that the group were asked to perform at our fundraising Cream Tea on May 3rd 2009.
Prop making was the theme of the third workshop and the last one before the summer break was a drama one where the Breakfast News programmes were given the Shine On treatment.

Shine On is open to anyone over the age of 21 who finds the pace of other adult drama groups too fast for them.
The monthly workshops all have a theatreical base and look at a wide range of skills and specialities that make up the whole theatre experience.
Future workshops planned for 2009 include music and movement, a visit to a working theatre to learn about lighting the stage and stage choreography.
The Shine On group will take turns to assist at Shine rehearsals and form part of the backstage crew in performances, mentored by one of the adult staff.
If you would like to be involved either as a Shine On member or workshop supporter, please get in touch.
If you are aged between 16 and 25 and would like a taste of voluntary work, please contact us to join in this fun group as a group leader. Counts towards D of E award.
If you are involved in a theatre or have a theatrical skill you would like to share with Shine On, please get in touch.
